“ So how this place works is you pick the broth(s) and what you want to cook in the broth. This review is for the following broth and ingredients: Spicy Sichuan broth, and the House Special Collagen broth, veggie combo (a must! Great selection of veggies), special fatty beef, lamb shoulder, quail eggs, shrimp balls (sometimes I like to add in extra enoki mushrooms mmmm) Food: 5/5 Delicious broth that is even better after cooking the ingredients in them. But be warned... the broth is inconsistent or maybe depends on the time you go (to let the broth become more rich over time??) not sure how it work honestly. But we love both broths. We find that it's always way too much food! Service: 5/5 Typically good service. Not too much not too little. When it gets busy, service might not be the best but everyone is very friendly and respectful at the end of the day. They have a self serve sauce bar. One time my bf and I forgot out to go boxes before getting into our cars, and they held on to it for us Ambiance: 5/5 I think it's a cute and cozy place. Perfect for a date or to hang out with friends. They always have some kind of Asian drama with subtitles on TV. Interesting to watch, I always try to see if it's one I've seen before. ”
“ Decided to give it a try in cold weekend. Not AYCE, everything is a la cart price. Pricey compared to other ayce Shabu places in SoCal. Tomato soup base is very tasty. $85 before tip as shown on photo ”
“ Today, while on the road back to the bay and we were hungry. I love hotpot so much so why not check out this place. Omg so good! One of my favorite hotpot places!! Only downside it is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for? It's chill environment. The moment I walked in, I can smell the delicious fragrance of sichuan hotpot! YUMMM. Got seated right away. We ordered sichuan spicy broth (medium). Wow the broth was so flavorful. I cant tell you how many bowls of soup I drank. Service was so good, she offered refill of our broth without us even asking. We got the beef lamb combo, came with three different meats. Fresh and melted in my mouth. Seafood combo. Damn. This was worth $48. It was a lot bigger than we thought. Came with mussels, clams, two types of fish, two types of squid, 4 types of fish cutlet, baby octopus, and maybe more. It was never ending too. Came in a cute display of a clam dish. The fuzhou fishball and mentaiko fish ball was wonderful. The fish tofu was only okay, seemed a bit too dense for me. Probably will skip that one if i ever come back. Loved my wild bean noodle! If I had room in my tummy, I would get another noodle too. haha. The mushroom combo was wonderful. It came with FIVE different mushrooms for $18.00. Not bad at all. Included sauce bar! Love that. The two servers today were wonderful. Idk their names. No name tags. But these two ladies were very attentative. Clearly, we had left overs because the portions were bigger than we thought. One of the ladies even packed our to go boxes. So nice. I even heard the table next to us asking how the ordering process work and how to cook/eat. Maybe first time having hotpot? The server was so patient and nice explaining to the family how to order and the portion sizes and the different combos you can order. ”
“ My friends and I pulled into Sichuan Hotpot after a 3-hour drive from the Bay Area--starving to the point where the "hangry" was setting in. We were on our way to a wedding and desperately needed food. Thankfully, this place delivered! The restaurant had a traditional and upscale feel with beautiful mahogany furniture, giving it a cozy, elegant vibe. The seating was super comfortable, which was dangerous for us road-weary folks--we almost settled in for the day! Note: this isn't an AYCE hotpot joint, so come prepared to savor quality over quantity. We got there around 12:30 pm, and the place was quiet--only one or two other groups. We loved the peace (no battling for the last slice of fatty beef here!). Ordering is done through a checklist--easy to use and kind of satisfying to fill out, like checking off goals... but with meat. Soup bases: - House Special Collagen Broth - Rich, silky, and comforting, even without ingredients. - Sweet Tomato Broth - Sweet and flavorful, no spice but plenty of taste. Both broths were so delicious that we almost treated them like soup appetizers. But over time, the broth ran low, and we wished they offered refills--even just topping it off with water would've kept the party going. We had to ration those last bits of broth like it was the final scene in Titanic. What we ordered for toppings: - Meat Combo Plates: Fatty beef, marbled beef, Angus prime ribeye, and Kobe beef--a meat lover's paradise. - Mushroom Combo Plate: Shiitake, king oyster, regular oyster, enoki, and one chewy mystery mushroom (the surprise ingredient we didn't know we needed). - Veggies: Bok choy, fresh and perfect for soaking up the broth. - Fried Tofu: Crisp outside, soft inside. A reliable hotpot classic. - Fish Balls: Because no hotpot is complete without them. We also ordered the egg fried rice--and wow, it was a beast of a dish. One plate was enough to fill all three of us, and we still had leftovers. If we'd known how filling it would be, we might've skipped the wedding entirely and called it a day! I had their lychee drink, which came bottled with real chunks of lychee. It was like a refreshing mini-tropical getaway in the middle of our feast. Service was spot on! Our server checked in three times, just enough to make sure everything was good without hovering. Our water glasses were always full, which was much appreciated with all the hotpot action going on. Final bill: $138 (including tip). Not bad at all for the quality we got! Overall, Sichuan Hotpot is a fantastic choice if you're after quality ingredients and a chill dining experience. The only thing keeping it from being perfect was the lack of soup refills--we were scraping the bottom of the pot toward the end, and it felt like a mini tragedy. But if you're in the area, it's definitely worth stopping by. ”
“ I absolutely love this place! The ambience is fantastic--spacious with plenty of seating, making it perfect for both small and large groups. I've visited multiple times and usually order the collagen and spicy soup. One of my favorite things is that you can choose whatever veggies you'd like, which helps minimize waste and allows for a personalized experience. The chili broth packs a punch, so if you don't have a high spice tolerance, you might want to explore other options. However, I find that the milk broth provides the perfect balance to the spiciness, soothing the heat beautifully. Overall, I highly recommend this location--not only for the delicious food but also for the lovely atmosphere! ”
“ My partner had never had hot pot but he loves KBBQ and pho so I thought this would be a good experience and I was right! We loved all the veggies you can get and the broth flavors are really good. We definitely enjoyed the spicy one the most as it had more flavor than the vegetable broth bases. Service was good. They can get busy quick but we enjoyed our time and would come back again. ”
“ As a hot pot lover, I was pleased to find out Fresno recently opened up a new traditional Chinese hot pot restaurant! So whether you're a local or a visitor of the area, make sure to pay this small family business a visit. Sichuan Hot Pot has all the essentials to a solid meal. The meat was high quality and fresh, the mild spicy beef broth was flavorful and the perfect level of spice! If you don't like a spicy broth base, don't worry, you have options to choose from. The menu ranges in a variety of fresh vegetables to different meat and seafood as well! ”
“ A good hot pot place to go to in Fresno!!! For a group of 5 people we ordered-- House special bone broth & Sichuan Spicy Beef Broth, Beef combo, Vegetable Combo and sides of rice. Which was ample food!!! The broth was delicious, the vegetables were fresh and the beef was very good! There is even a sauce bar! The overall cooking experience was good. There was lag time waiting for the server to refill drinks and receive our check but it may just have been a busier day in the restaurant! We come back again :) ”
“ It's been almost a year since I first went. This place is still very good. The quality of everything is still the same. They did add more condiments, I'm glad to see it. They've added more broth choices. They also added more meat combo options, combo veggie options. Before you had to buy it separately. I still highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to try hot pot. I do believe this is the only one in Fresno/clovis. I don't think they have other places like this. ”
